Zhang Kechun's Yellow River is this year's winner of the Daylight prize.
Bio: Zhang Kechun (b. 1980, Bazhong, Sichuan Province, China) is a freelance photographer who lives and works in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China. His work has won awards and been exhibited throughout China and internationally including at the PHOTOQUAI Biennial (2014), L'Iris d'Or Award Exhibition (2013), and the Beijing Photo Biennial (2013).

Seen anything interesting lately?
I looked at Zhang Kechun's Yellow River collection. While clearly he is a skillful photographer, I cannot help but be disturbed by the ghastly scenes of pollution and miserable living conditions in China. Perhaps that is his point.
